Last week Kevin Liu, N4L’s Senior Business Analyst, was invited to present at the Conferenz New Zealand IT & Enterprise Architecture Conference in Auckland.
Kevin, who is a TOGAF9 (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certified Enterprise Architecture practitioner, gave a 45 minute presentation about TOGAF terminologies and how to tailor, apply and take benefit from the framework for smaller scale organisations such as N4L. He shared his experience, and a few tips, in applying TOGAF as a framework, providing a guideline to help smaller organisations achieve their desired business outcomes.
There were around 60 IT Architects from different organisations who practice in different IT Architecture domains attending the conference. The conference is about sharing knowledge and experience in Enterprise Architecture practice. Other speakers included representatives from NZ Transport Agency, Department of Internal Affairs, Southern Cross Health Society, Parliamentary Service, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (USA), Contact Energy, ACC and Fonterra all presented at the conference.
Feedback from the conference audience indicated they found it very interesting to hear that TOGAF can be applied in a different manner, adding value to smaller scale organisations.
Great stuff Kevin!
