We’re aware of a Google issue with new Chromebooks not being able to connect properly to Wi-Fi until the operating system is updated. It happens when a new Chromebook is trying to connect to internet for the first time, in order to finish the initial setup steps.
What’s happening
- When trying to set up a new Chromebook, the network list shows that a Chromebook is successfully connected
- However, a ‘Network not available’ error note is prompted
What to do next
School’s IT support should be able to update the Chrome OS of any affected device. Please refer to the Chromebook recovery guide otherwise please contact Google Support.
