This morning there was a disruption to N4L’s managed network. Our support team took immediate action to notify all N4L schools and our engineers began investigating the issue, which has since been resolved.
At this point we are aware the incident affected around 60 of the 219 schools currently using the managed network. The affected schools could not access web-based services for two to three hours this morning. This means that services not relying on the web, such as telephone and non-web-based email, were not disrupted.
This issue has been resolved and we have telephoned all affected schools to confirm all N4L services are back up and running, and to apologise for the disruption. We are also working with our network partners to determine why the disruption occurred, and what can be done to ensure the issue doesn’t happen again.
We sincerely apologise to all N4L schools for the disruption. We remain strongly committed to delivering high quality services to all New Zealand schools which includes providing exceptional levels of support when schools need our help.
