Pond is expanding this week. Moving from advisor educators helping N4L with specific development to a wider audience of Pioneer Educators who will help shape the direction of Pond. You may be interested in becoming a Pioneer but how do you do that? There are a number of pathways you can take to get into Pond, each outlined below.
1. Be recommended by one of the sector agencies or associations N4L is partnering with
N4L is working with a number of sector agencies and associations to select Pioneer Educators who have an innovative approach and a desire to help develop Pond further.
2. Attend a physical workshop
Starting this week in Whangarei with the Northpower workshops, N4L is running hands on workshops for teachers to explore Pond. In addition to this, we will also be at the Learning@Schools roadshows in Palmerston North, Ashburton and Dunedin as well as the Interface expos in Wellington, Taupo and Auckland. Please pre-register for these workshops and make sure you have your Education Sector Logon (otherwise known as ESAA or e-asTTle log in) ready for the day with the Pond entitlement. Since these workshops are hands on, you’ll also need either a laptop with wifi connectivity for the duration of the workshop.
The physical workshops are as follows:
- 6 May – Northpower – Whangarei
- 15 May – Learning @ Schools – Palmerston North
- 20 May – Learning @ Schools – Ashburton
- 22 May – Learning @ Schools – Dunedin
- 22 May – InterfaceXpo – Wellington
- 26 May – InterfaceXpo – Taupo
- 28 May – InterfaceXpo – Auckland
3. Attend an online workshop
Short 30 minute online workshops are being held throughout May. These workshops will offer a walk through of Pond’s key features and allow questions at the end. All you need to attend this is visit this web page at one of the dates/times below. By registering your attendance on the day, you’ll receive a Pioneer invite at the completion of the workshop. Any teacher can attend these online workshops but make sure you have your Education Sector Logon and the right entitlement otherwise you won’t be able to log into Pond on your own afterwards.
The online workshops are being held on the following day and times:
- Thursday 8th May: 4.15 – 4.45pm
- Tuesday 13th May: 4.15 – 4.45pm

Remember, if you don’t have your Education Sector Logon (ESAA) with the right entitlement for Pond, you won’t be able to get into Pond. E-asTTle users will automatically be able to access Pond as it becomes available to them, but if you are not an e-asTTle user, please check your entitlement by emailing [email protected] or speak to your Principal.
