Enhancing your level of email security
Our Email Protection solution is available to help protect schools and kura from an increasing number of email-based cyber threats. It builds on your existing Microsoft or Google email service by adding an additional layer of security to block malicious emails before they enter school inboxes. In Term 3 alone, this advanced email protection platform blocked nearly 153 million unsafe emails from reaching schools and kura across the motu. It’s fully funded and easy to set up, and you can find out all the benefits here.

Helping schools manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities
As part of our Cybersecurity services, we carry out regular scans of the network to see what might be accessible on the internet and if there are any potential security risks to schools or kura. If we discover a potential vulnerability at your school, we’ll be in touch and can assist you or your IT provider with remediation or mitigation of the risk. This will help reduce the risk of your school’s network being exploited. You can learn more about our Cybersecurity services below.

Big congratulations to the Ministry of Education and Grok Academy!
Well done to the Ministry of Education (Ministry) and Grok Academy, who’ve both recently won awards. The Ministry won Project/Awareness Initiative of the Year at the 2023 iSANZ Awards for their work in cybersecurity, for which we are a key delivery partner around initiatives such as Email Protection and our Security Operations Centre. Meanwhile, Grok Academy’s Cyber Skills Aotearoa (for which N4L is an industry sponsor) has taken out the award for Best Program for Young Individuals in Security at the Women In Security Awards. A fantastic achievement by both!

An attempt on the network to send users to malicious websites.
44.7M – Security threats blocked
An attempt to access a website that’s been blocked based on the category the website is associated with.
15.2PB – Website data usage
This is the total amount of data (in petabytes) used by schools across NZ throughout the term (for context, a normal website is roughly 3 megabytes).
